Introduction
I thought I would go over my UI a little bit, let people know how I set it up and why this way. For right now I'm just going to be talking about my cast bars. I use the following mods:
- Bartender4 - This replaces the default bars and provides 10 customizable bars.
- OmnicCC - Shows cooldowns on the bar buttons
- Dr Damage - Displays average damage and heals per spell on the icon. Hover over for a breakdown.
- Button Facade - To make the bar buttons look pretty. Using ButtFacade_Darion
For non bar mods, but mods that affect my keybindings I use the following mods:
- GoGoMount - One button click to summon a random mount or shapeshift into the appropriate druid form.
I use many other mods, but those are the ones that are relevant to this topic.
Keyboard Layout
I recently switched from using the standard ASWD bindings for movement and 1-0 for casting to ESDF and then localized buttons for casting. It took me a day or two to acclimate to this change (I don't believe I caused any wipes), but now it's second nature and I find it's very fast and easy to use.
Current UI
To give you an idea of how I like to organize things on screen, here is my current UI.
And what it looks like in action.p>

I tried to accomplish a few things with my bindings. Druids have several different forms in them and each one has spells only available to that form. I attempted to map spells that do the same or similar things to the same button. For example, R is my interrupt button. I also tried to put buttons I press a lot in easy to use locations, and time critical buttons close to my dominant fingers, so my interrupts and stuns are clicked with my index finger.
I used A, W, and G for my most spammable attack spells. A can be pressed while I am moving in any direction, W only restricts me from left strafing, and G from right strafing. I don't actualy have any spells bounds to my middle finger and it is only used to move forward, E (It's not shown in my bindings, but autorun is Shift-E). This is potentially a place to improve the bindings. I tried to use V, C, and X for defensive spells and longer, more utility cooldowns. Z I used for AOE so that it's on a different finger from G which I use for Maul (both are spammed during aoe fights). Q is a rather awkward button so I use it for my long cooldown: Berserk.
You'll notice that the last two spells on each bar are still mapped to '-' and '='. These are cast from the two thumb buttons on my mouse (I have three, the third is for Push-To-Talk). The first mouse button is for Feral Charge, Cyclone, and my PVP trinket(ALT), and the second for Ravage (procs off cat charge), Entangling Roots, and using my DPS trinkets.
I both tank and dps in raids as well as PVP as a Feral and while my bars are slightly different for each, I tried to keep them as similar as possible. What is shown here is my PVP layout. PVE substitutes in a few things like a taunt.
Bindings
These are my different button bars that automatically page depending on what form or state I'm in.
The only buttons I don't cast from the keyboard are the last two, '-' and '='. These are clicked from two thumb buttons on my mouse.
Caster
Cat
Cat Alt
Cat Stealth
Bear
Bear Alt
Druid Forms - Shift
These are hard bound and not actually on any bars. I haven't found the need to use shift as a modifier yet so that works fine for me.
